Renewed Life Counseling & Coaching

Owner(s): Suzanne B. Simpson, M. Ed., LPC, BCC

About Us:

I can be a one stop place to offer an integrated approach of addressing the mind, body, and spirit through my 25 years of experience and expertise.   A lot of people have been in therapy before, but never really resolved some of the root causes of their emotions. I offer some innovative mind/body healing tools to get to the root of issues so you can clear the underlying cause of behavioral issues.  For example weight loss programs typically offer great behavioral protocols, but miss the underlying emotional issues that are driving the behavior.  In addition, I have coach training and experience and can move people along toward their future goals.

When did you start your business?

In 2000 and have been building on my background ever since.

What made you decide to open this business?

Ever since I was in my thirties I got a message that my mission was to help people spiritually, emotionally, and physically.  I was in a secular job at the time and felt led to get the education to be able to help people in these ways.  So through the years I have done that very thing… sought out various trainings and education to equip myself to counsel, coach, and train others to heal and transform so they can live out more of their potential.  What has been particularly fulfilling for me is helping people reconnect with their heart emotions and clear out all of the encumbrances that get in the way.

What do you enjoy most about serving your customers, clients or patients?

I like seeing my clients find ways to heal, transform, and live healthier lives. Whether it is seeing their relationships heal, their health improve, or finding more of their vocational passion, all of this gives me great fulfillment in guiding them along their path.

Do you have any success stories you would like to share?

I have many success stories, but the one that comes to mind is with a client who had been in therapy before, but was still experiencing some areas that were holding her back from having healthy relationships and moving her life forward. She had a pattern of giving too much, feeling depleted and void of reciprocal relationships. She was also involved in biking competitions and wanted to excel in her speed and endurance.  Through the course of the time together we were able to clear a lot of old emotions that were still plaguing her from her past parent relationships.  She was able to attract a very healthy partner that cherishes her and gives to her unconditionally. In addition, her sports performance greatly improved and she was able to excel to new levels in her business.

Would you like to share your testimony?

I grew up in a very performance based background where my father was a very successful doctor.  As a result of that I put a lot of pressure on myself and never felt quite good enough unless I was performing up to my parents’ expectations.  I was not very close to my father since he was so busy with his profession and had very little left to give to me growing up.  I spent a lot of my years yearning to be accepted by people and especially men.  The seeds where planted in high school through Young Life, but when I was in my late 20’s I came to know Christ in a very personal way through a friend at work.  She encouraged me to get into the Bible and I went to Bill Gothard’s Basic Youth Conflict seminars where I learned I could apply the Bible to my daily life.  From then on I began to grow spiritually and God began the good work of healing those broken wounded areas of my life.

It was during this time that I began to see that my job in the secular world of retail wasn’t satisfying to me anymore and I went into full time Christian work with Campus Crusade.

Later I sought after a degree in counseling as I realized that I could best use my gifts being a counselor which then I could add on to my background of helping people emotionally. Eventually I got nutrition certification.  All of this has equipped me to where I am today and how I am best able to help people mind, body, and spirit with this background.

I married late in life and God brought me a husband that is very much on a spiritual Christian path.  We enjoy sharing intimacy and our growth together. Through my husband’s daughter, we have a couple of grandkids that live in another state.  In addition, we like traveling, the arts, and hiking together.

Do you recommend supporting any missions or ministries and why?

I recommend supporting missions and ministries as you feel led. There are a number of very valuable ministries that God has raised up.
